I’ve found a bit of a middle ground this year. I started scoping out all the stores for new decorating ideas last week. And if I just happen to buy something, it just makes sense to put it out now versus hauling it to the attic, right? Loophole!
As much as I love Christmas decor, my absolute favorite thing about Christmas is giving. I was thrilled when Pier 1 Imports offered a $200 gift card for me to pass on to one of you. The entry form is right at the end of the post(Update: Giveaway has ended and the prize has been claimed).
Before we get to that, I thought I’d share two my of my favorite Christmas looks and favorite Pier 1 products from this year. I’m always torn between snowy, glam Christmas and a woodsy, traditional Christmas, so I included both!
Snowy, Glam Christmas Favorites
As soon as I walked in Pier 1, I spotted this all-white tree and fell in love! It was the perfect inspiration for look #1.
Here’s some of my favorite products to get the look. Click any of the images for more details!
I think I’m partially drawn to snowy decor because you can get away with leaving it up longer. The wreath and pillow would stay out until it was time to add spring colors. And a white and metallic color scheme feels so soothing and peaceful. That’s a huge factor when Christmas tends to bring a bit of chaos and rushing around.
HOWEVER….
I get way too excited about traditional Christmas colors to abandon them completely. Something about adding red and green to our home reminds me of family, tradition, and warmth. So, I put together this second group of products that make me equally happy!
Woodsy, Traditional Christmas Favorites
I started with this tree, which I’m convinced may be the perfect artificial tree. It’s so full! When I read that the lights connect through the center pole and you don’t have to fight to connect multiple strands together, I was totally jealous of everyone who already owns this. I haven’t ordered it yet, but I’m thinking about going for the splurge. We keep our trees for a long time, so when I break down the cost vs all the frustration saved, I think it may be totally worth it. And PS: All Reg. Priced 6ft – 9ft Pre-Lit Christmas Trees UP TO 30% Off, valid 10/30 – 11/26!
Sometimes when I’m shopping, I fall in love with something, but I’m not quite sure if it will work with my existing decor. For example, that fun gold and plaid reindeer pillow above. Since I haven’t hauled the rest of my Christmas stuff out yet, I was having a hard time remembering exactly what my current Christmas pillows look like. I feel like I might have been happy with them, so there could be a better way for me to spend my Christmas decor budget. BUT I didn’t want to forget this pillow in case I need it. I just snap a picture in the store, and try to get a price tag or something included in the shot so I remember where I was at. It’s a great way to keep track of things!
I still can’t pick my favorite Christmas look, so it’s a good thing I can decorate a few different spots in the house. The office will be more of the snowy glam, and our little powder bath usually get lots of woodsy touches. The living room is still a bit up in the air. We’ll see what happens!

Pillows and twinkly lights!!!!!

I love everything in the Woodsy style.
Melissa George says
I dream of a real cabin I can decorate for Christmas one day! I like the woodsy stuff in our house too, but a full cabin of it would be amazing.
Kelsey G says
I would get a new dining table. Probably the Simon Java X Dining Table Base
Melissa George says
I love that idea! I’ve been looking at their tables too. We have a Pier 1 table that is about 11 years old and still in good shape, but I’m ready for a new style.
Julie Yelverton says
Love the flocked tree and pinecone wreath. And kind of digging the plaid Christmas dishes.
Melissa George says
Those plaid dishes would be so fun!
Amanda K says
Gosh I love that Velvet Snowflake Pillow! I’m soooo into green and red for Christmas but that white pillow is calling my name!
Melissa George says
I’m glad it’s not just me that flips back and forth! I settled on traditional Christmas colors in the bedroom, whites and glam in the living room, and a mix in the kitchen. Give me all the Christmas things! 🙂
Therese Pederson says
I love the icy star!!!!
Amanda N. says
I’m obsessed with all things plaid! Those plates may be coming home with me. I love traditional Christmas colors and decorations, but with glitter and sparkle thrown in! 🙂
Melissa George says
Yes! Combining both is another great option! I’m definetely using both around the house, but trying a living room without red this year. Fingers crossed I can pull it together!
Elena says
I would get the Oversized Pre-Lit Royal Faux Poinsettia Wreath
Melissa George says
OH, good pick! That is gorgeous!
Teresa Alexander says
I like the plaid table linens!
Melissa George says
They are so pretty!
Jen says
Love the snowy glam look!! I am definitely going to use that inspiration for decorating this year!
Melissa George says
Me too! I’ve got a bit of that look in office and I kicked the color red out of the living room for the first time ever. The snowy stuff is just too pretty. Plus, that meant I could decorate the bedroom. I have enough things with pops of red that it all got concentrated in the bedroom. Win-win!
HS says
I would love Luminous Porcelain 16-piece Coupe Dinnerware Set.
Melissa George says
Oh that is so pretty! Great pick!
Kim says
Woodsy and traditional, ahhh!!! I just picked up some faux pine branches and gold tone antler picks. Seriously walked the store like 5 times just gazing at all of the beautifulness 😉
camille g says

Melissa George says
Yes! So much pretty decor to add to the house at Christmas!
Jen says
I love a snowy Christmas scene! It makes me want to break out the hot chocolate!
Melissa George says
Mmm! That sounds perfect!

I am digging that Pre-Lit Artificial Self Shaping Cashmere 7.5′ Tree. I’ve been using an artificial tree for 15+ years, and it’s definitely better than dealing with a real one. But mine is starting to age, and I’m ready for a taller replacement. This tree looks ideal.
Melissa George says
It’s so gorgeous! We ended up putting our older artificial tree up this year because I needed it up for some photos, but like yours, I wish it was a bit taller!
lohi b says
I love love love the glam Christmas. The whites and sparkles just make everything feel so grown up and cozy!

Yes, you know I love the tree from the post, but those fur blankets are amazing too!
Debbie Reynolds says
I love both looks, and like you, it is always hard to decide which way to go!
Melissa George says
Stay tuned for my Christmas tour next week, I think I’ve managed to find spaces for both styles in our house this year!
