I’ve noticed a trend when I post various photos from around our house. The most commonly asked about pieces of furniture are the different gray tufted accent chairs around the house.
It wasn’t intentional, but we actually have FIVE of them – a matching set in the office, a different matching set in the living room, and a single reading corner in the bedroom.
The office chairs were a great find at Tuesday Morning and I’ve never been able to track down the exact chairs for readers, so I’m always looking up alternatives.
I pulled those options together, along with more grey affordable accent chairs, to making shopping easy for you.
Gray Tufted Chair Round Up
This is the chair we have in the bedroom now, and before that, it was in our living room. We've had it for over 5 years with no issues or sagging. It's really comfortable for reading or conversation and the medium gray fits into almost any color scheme.
The only caveat would come if you have a health condition that makes it hard to get up from a chair. The seat has a slope that makes the chair very comfortable. That could also make it a little more difficult for some to rise from the seating position.
If space is at a premium, the flat sides and narrow arms of this chair may be perfect! The channel tufting combined with the velvet fabric gives the chair a glam look that feels way more expensive than the actual price tag.
This option is the closest I can find to my office chairs. It's one of the most versatile chairs on the list and would look right at home mixed into almost any design style. And the price tag is hard to beat for a cute upholstered chair!
Looking for something inspired by 50s & 60s Danish design? This sleek upholstered option has wood arms and legs that would fit right into a mid-century design WITHOUT a huge price tag.
The tall legs and lower back make this chair a good choice for a crowded room where you still need extra seating. It doesn't take up a lot of visual space, but it's still both chic and functional.
This is the most elegant option on the list today, but that doesn't mean your whole style has to be fancy. A pair of these chairs would also look amazing in a modern farmhouse setting!
Looking for something a bit more traditional? Try this classic wingback chair in light grey.
The overall reviews are fabulous, but a couple of them mention the seat being lower than their couch. Keep that in mind and measure before ordering if you're looking for something to go right next to a sofa.
I had a hard time not pushing "Add to Cart" when I spotted this chair! It would look SO GOOD in our bedroom.
Wouldn't the curvy shape and gold legs make you feel like a 50's movie star?
We purchased two of these chairs for the living room and EVERYONE who sits in them comments on how comfortable they are. The seat is big enough for me to sit cross-legged and the arms make you feel cozy and cocooned.
The normal price is higher than others on the list, but they go on sale regularly. We paid under $250 each for ours, so be sure to hold out for a sale.
Now that I’ve been looking at all these chairs, I just want to forget the rest of my to do list and curl up in one of mine with a good book!
