I couldn’t have asked for a better start to 2014. New Years Eve I was in Texas to welcome my newest nephew into the world. He was a healthy and strong eleven pounds. Of course I have to show you his picture!

On Sunday, we got dressed up for football. Can you tell our family is originally from Minnesota? Baby is a little depressed the Vikings season was over before he was born. PS: When you can’t find a Vikings onesie in Texas, napkins from the party store can be cut out and taped on a plain onesie for a super cute photo.
My first six days of the new year were happily spent getting to know the new baby, which means I haven’t started on any 2014 organization! As I thought through my month ahead, I wanted to share my goals for the month so you could all hold me accountable.
1) Master bath linen closet makeover & reveal
We have an awesome linen closet. Since it was so much bigger than we were used to, we slowly filled it up without a solid plan. Now that we have been in the house for two years, it is a mini disaster zone. I can’t really tell what I have in my stockpile, which is frustrating. I like to stock up when I get a great deal, but not if I already have a good supply. As much as I like fresh breath, I have no desire to have 25 years worth of toothpaste hiding in the closet!
This is what it looks like today. I can’t wait to start this project tomorrow by clearing everything out and painting!
2) Old post review
I have learned a ridiculous amount since I launched the blog, yet I have so much more to learn! For now, I know I need to go back in time to make some updates. Mainly I am adding Pinterest worthy descriptions behind the scenes to all the photos, renaming the photos to be more descriptive, and adding watermarks. I may even add a few new photos, we’ll see how the month is going 🙂
3) Stop the coupon madness
A few years ago, I was on top of my couponing game. Then I went back to school while still working full time and slowly let go of my coupon organization. Now that I left my non blogging job, I can make the time I need to get back to it. First step is cleaning out my coupon binder and getting the coupons organized! I’m sure everything in the binder is expired, so it needs to be emptied and then everything in the tray needs to go into the binder. I tried using the little files shown below instead of the binder, but it just wasn’t as functional. Time to get back to what works. I’ll share my system with you as soon as I can!
4) Try one new healthy recipe per week
Right before Christmas, we made Chicken Pot Pie Soup from Skinnytaste. It was amazing! We tend to get in cooking ruts, so I need to find at least one new thing to try each week. This week I picked up some Italian chicken sausage from Target. I’m going to wing it making up my own pasta sauce using garlic, onion, tomato & the sausage. Hopefully it turns out yummy.
5) End the month with at least 14 posts
I keep spending a ton of time working on blog related tasks that don’t result in actual new content for you. It’s all important, but growing my audience will be pointless if I’m not consistently delivering great posts. It’s time to make content my first priority.
There are several other things running through my head that I want to accomplish. But, I’m going to go with the “slow down” portion of my resolution. Instead of charging ahead with a million items, I’m going to focus on these 5 things and doing them well. Hopefully in my January recap I can report that they were all an amazing success. And if not, life goes on and I’ll try again 🙂
Have a great January!

I like your plan! I’ve got a ton of goals for this year as well. I do need to go back to some of my posts, like you, and upgrade and/or update the pictures as well. One goal I have this year is to get a new camera with which to take better pictures. Our DSLR was almost top of the line when we bought it 7 years ago, but technology has changed so much and I’m pretty sure my iPhone has a larger pixel camera than our DSLR. I can’t wait to see your linen closet reveal!
